Faith

  1. “How you deal with life’s trials is part of the development of your faith. Strength comes when you remember that you have a divine nature, an inheritance of infinite worth.” (Elder Nelson, Face the Future with Faith, 2011 April Conference)
  2. “The future is as bright as your faith.” (President Monson, Be of Good Cheer, 2009 April Conference)
  3. “When faith replaces doubt, when selfless service eliminates selfish striving, the power of God brings to pass His purposes.” (President Monson, Willing and Worthy to Serve, 2012 April Conference)
  4. “If the foundation of faith is not embedded in our hearts, the power to endure will crumble.” (President Eyring, Mountains to Climb, 2012 April Conference)
  5. “When you are faced with a test of faith, stay within the safety and security of the household of God. There is always a place for you here. No trial is so large we can’t overcome it together.” (Elder Andersen, Trial of Your Faith, 2012 October Conference)
  6. “I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face.” (President Monson, Looking Back and Moving Forward, 2008 April Conference)
  7. “When we with faith control our tempers and subdue our pride, the Holy Ghost gives His approval, and sacred promises and covenants become sure.” (President Eyring, Families under Covenant, 2012 April Conference)
  8. “Our children need to know that you have faith in the Savior, love your Heavenly Father, and sustain the leaders of the Church.” (Elder Cook, Can Ye Feel So Now?, 2012 April Conference)
  9. “It is by faith that you can lay hold upon every good thing. I pray with all my heart that your faith will be increased that you are a daughter of a loving God.” (President Eyring, Walk in the Light, 2008 April Conference)
  10. “Why do we need such resilient faith? Because difficult days are ahead.Rarely in the future will it be easy or popular to be a faithful Latter-day Saint. Each of us will be tested.”(Elder Nelson, Face the Future with Faith, 2011 April Conference)

Why it matters:
I have been been learning a lot about faith in the past six months. I think it is interesting that I can quote scriptures and the prophets when they talk about faith, but it is entirely different to live a life of perfect faith. I’ve learned that having the answers is not enough--I must ask to gain a greater witness of my faith. Truly, my faith will be tested throughout my entire life as I encounter different difficulties.
