  2. “To the youth of the Church we … plead with you to live clean, for the unclean life leads only to suffering, misery, and woe physically,—and spiritually it is the path to destruction.” (Elder Backman, Chastity: The Source of True Manhood, October 1989 Conference)
  3. “There are many single adults in the Church well beyond their early adult years. While finding their present life different than they had anticipated, they keep the law of chastity.11 It can be a trial of their faith. Chastity nurtures and builds feelings of self-worth and indemnifies against the destruction of self-image.” (President Faust, The Dignity of Self, April 1981 Conference)
  6. “Your personal virtue will … enable you to make the decisions that will help you be worthy to enter the temple.” (Sister Dalton, Come Let Us Go Up to the Mountian of the Lord, April 2009 Conference)

  8. “Virtue is a pattern of thought and behavior based on high moral standards.” (Sister Dalton, Guardians of Virtue)
  9. “All through the years, remember: chastity is the powerful protector of virile manhood and the crown of beautiful womanhood.” (Elder Nelson, Self-Mastery, 1985 October Conference)
  10. “The men or women of Christ is spiritual and bridals all passions.” (Elder Bednar, The Law of Chastity, 2013 April Conference)

Why it matters:
Every time I hear a talk given on chastity I am impressed by the serious nature of the topic. Heavenly Father is concerned with this mortal life: both how we leave and enter it. I have gained a strong testimony of the importance of keeping the law of chastity. The bounds are ones the Lord has set, and there is great strength in uphold God’s laws.
